UM surgeon at center of settlement says he does 3 to 5 surgeries a day. Is that possible?

Federal prosecutors allege Dr. Joseph Lamelas, while at Baylor University, allowed heart surgeries to be performed by unqualified residents without his supervision. He is now chief of cardiac surgery at UM medical school.
