Extra parliament session begins with minority gov’t eyeing budget, reforms

Japan’s parliament convened an extraordinary session Thursday with Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba’s minority government seeking to enact a supplementary budget to help inflation-hit households and revise a political funds law in the wake of a scandal plaguing his party.
