Yahoo co-founder and AME Cloud Ventures co-founder Jerry Yang is no stranger to the rapid advancement of technology. But with great progress comes endless hurdles, including governmental responsibility and regulation, as he explained to Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi on Opening Bid for the show’s 100th episode. “When things are moving really fast, and it’s innovating, and it’s in the beginning, I think the government should learn, observe, and understand, but not regulate,” he said. However, he further clarified that “anytime we have a gap in any sort of equity social situations, that’s when I think the government needs to play a role.” For Yang it boils down to any government’s ability to keep up: “AI’s gonna move way faster than every other previous technology.
